Fiber artists, Barbara Morejon and Marlene Gruetter will be featured in the French Art Colony Galleries for the month August. Opening Friday, August 1 and running through Sunday, August 31, the exhibit, “Avante-Garde Felt Wearables” blends fashion, sculpture and textile arts into a one-of-a-kind showcase.
The French Art Colony is located at 530 1st Avenue, in Gallipolis. Gallery hours are 9:00-4:00, Tuesday through Friday; 10:00-3:00, on Saturday; and 1:00-5:00, on Sunday. The Galleries are closed on Mondays.
Admission is free.
FRENCH ART COLONY THURSDAYS HOT SUMMER NIGHTS
Every Thursday afternoon and evening, from through September 25, The French Art Colony lawn and gardens comes to life with the arts! French Art Colony Thursdays, Hot Summer Nights, is a weekly art festival with live entertainment, food from Honey Creek Barbeque, legal beverages, and local artists and crafters from the Gallia County Artisan Market. Our evening event begins each Thursday at 6:00, with tickets only $5. (Gates open at 5:30 with music beginning at 6:30.) Please bring ID's and lawn chairs.
Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Visitors will enjoy entertainment from great, regional musicians and browsing the booths and watching demonstrations from locals artists and crafters. The Gallia County Artisan Market will also be open on the FAC lawn from 1:00-4:00 each Thursday afternoon. (No ticket is required to visit the Artisan Market during the afternoon hours.
French Art Colony Thursdays, HOT SUMMER NIGHTS is presented weather permitting and will cancel in the event of rain.

Friday, August 29th ~
Model T's will be arriving at local motels throught the entire day. Host hotel is Quality Inn with Super 8 and the Hampton Inn Gallipolis as overflow. Some cars will be on tour out in the county this afternoon.
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm The Model T's will be parked on First Avenue while the Jamboree participants enjoy ice cream in the Gallipolis City Park. Sightseeing of the cars is welcome!
Following the Ice Cream Social, the Model T's will go back to the three motels and the cars can be seen at those locations. (In case of rain, the Ice Cream Social will be at the host hotel, Quaility Inn).
Sunday, August 30th ~
The tour will take the cars across the Ohio River into Mason County. All the cars will be at Fort Randolph between 8:00 am and 10:00 am for photos.
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm The cars will be parked at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1110 First Avenue, Gallipolis for the Jamboree's Banquet.
Sunday, August 31st ~
8:00 am The Sunday Tour will take the cars on a Gallia County Tour out and about on State and County roads through Centenary, Raccoon Creek County Park, Patriot and Gage. The tour should arrive at Bob Evans Farms around Noon.
